This past weekend, we had the pleasure of attending two standout performances that highlighted this summer's diverse lineup: a soulful concert by Gregory Porter and a night of laughter with Jim Gaffigan. Scroll below to read and see some of our highlights!
Gregory Porter, the Grammy-winning jazz vocalist, brought his signature deep, velvety voice to the event, enchanting the audience with jazz, soul, and gospel. Porter is one of our all-time favorite jazz singers, and seeing him live exceeded all expectations. He always brings peace and wisdom to every concert he performs, and he sang some of our favorites, including hits like “Liquid Spirit,” "Take Me to the Alley," and “Hey Laura.” So good!
The ambiance of the Meritage Resort's outdoor venue really added a unique charm to the evening. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and being under a starlit sky was the perfect for Porter’s smooth and soulful performance. It was an unforgettable night, blending exceptional music with the serene beauty of Napa Valley.

The following day, Blue Note Napa shifted gears with an evening of comedy featuring the hilarious Jim Gaffigan – who needs no introduction but is known for his clever, observational humor and distinctive comedic voice, Gaffigan delivered a performance that had the everyone in stitches, paired with a few glasses of wine it was hilarious from start to finish. We’ve enjoyed his comedy for years, but this was our first time seeing him live, and he was even better than expected!
Although this was Gaffigan’s first time in Napa, his ability to connect with the audience was evident as he seamlessly blended new material with some of his classic jokes, all delivered with his signature deadpan style. It was a night filled with laughter and joy, perfectly complementing the relaxed and inviting atmosphere of the Meritage Resort. One of our favorite lines was his opening line, “Welcome rich people,” which set the tone for the rest of the show! HILARIOUS!! Cause you know, Napa…
Gregory Porter and Jim Gaffigan's recent performances are just a glimpse of what Blue Note Napa has in store. Their Summer Sessions will continue to bring top-tier talent to Napa Valley, promising more unforgettable evenings of music and comedy.
