Healdsburg Jazz Festival

First on the list is the Healdsburg Jazz Festival that kicks off on June 13th and it will go until June 19th! Anyone familiar with wine country will know that Healdsburg is one of the most iconic destinations with some of the best jazz and wine experiences right in the heart of Sonoma County. This year marks the 24th Anniversary of the festival and the full week of events will include curated pairings of music, wine, dance, food, and a free daylong Juneteenth celebration!

Performances and tastings will be held in both indoor and outdoor venues for and will feature award-winning wines along with local and international artists, including Afro-Cuban songstress Bobi Cespedes with Arenas Dance Company, bassist & composer Dave Holland, one of our all-time favorite local singers Kenny Washington, blues legend Charlie Musselwhite and a special Father's Day Concert with Paula West and the Adam Shulman Quartet, along with much, much more!

P.S. You definitely will want to check out the late night concerts Wednesday-Friday with musical guests like Howard Wiley and more!

Livermore Valley Opera

Most people might only think of Sonoma or Napa when planning your wine trips but don't overlook Livermore Valley because... did you know that nearly 80% of California's Chardonnay vines trace their genetic roots to a Livermore Valley clone? Livermore Valley also has a fun festival coming up called Opera in the Vineyard presented by the Livermore Valley Opera on July 17th and on Aug. 28th at the Retzlaff Vineyards in Livermore.

Livermore Valley Opera chose Retzlaff Vineyard as their outdoor theater because of its delicious wines and the homestead is completely surrounded by vineyards, making it a multi-sensory experience with a beautiful view, music, wine, and food. Something unique about this event is you can bring your very own picnic and set up your own table so you and your family and friends can enjoy your favorite bites from home while listening to arias, broadway tunes, opera excerpts, and enjoy Retzlaff wines (that will be available for purchase!).

Pssst...! If you enjoy Opera in the Vineyard then you definitely want to keep an eye out for Livermore Valley Opera's upcoming opera season with fully staged productions of The Elixir of Love this October and Tosca in March 2023.

Some of their special guests performers include Lea Michele (Glee, Spring Awakening), Jelani Remy (Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations), Ciara Renee (Waitress, Big Fish, Pippin), Natalie and Tenenbaum (David Byrne's American Utopia, The 8-Bit Big Band).
