What a night! The 5th annual Death By Aria, presented by Taste of Talent and Red Curtain Addict, transformed the Green Room into a spellbinding house of haunted music on October 30. This year’s milestone celebration honored half a decade of bewitching performances with a powerhouse cast and an unforgettable atmosphere, thanks to the amazing Mark Johns!

The night began with a festive pre-concert reception featuring themed cocktails by Hendrick’s Gin, Milagro, and Glenfiddich, wine by Umbriaso & Makasi, and delicious bites from Popi’s Oysterette & Blind Butcher. We’re so grateful to our sponsors and partners for helping make this year’s event one of the most memorable yet.
The concert transported audiences through a world of phantoms, witches, and tragic heroes. Mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz, soprano Maria Valdes, tenor Christopher Oglesby, and oboist and tenor Jesse Rex Barrett delivered mesmerizing performances from Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Verdi’s Macbeth, Handel’s Julius Cesar, and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. Each aria and duet deepened the sense of drama, weaving together operatic tragedy with a Halloween twist.
As the evening’s finale, pianist and master of ceremonies Ronny Michael Greenberg brought the audience to stillness with a moving performance of Dido’s lament, his special arrangement asked the haunting question at the heart of Death By Aria: If you knew you were going to die and had one last chance to sing, what would it be?
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this legendary San Francisco Halloween tradition. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!
