About Sarah Coburn A native of Oklahoma, soprano Sarah Coburn has performed on many of the world’s great stages, including The Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Seattle Opera, Los Angeles Opera, the Wiener Staatsoper, and Welsh National Opera. She has received awards from the George London Foundation, The Richard Tucker Foundation, The Jensen Foundation, The Liederkranz Foundation, Opera Index, and was a National Grand Finalist in the 2001 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Sarah Coburn’s many appearances at Tulsa Opera have included productions of Delibes’ Lakmé, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, and Verdi’s Rigoletto.
The grandest of grand operas, Verdi’s classic tragedy is performed in concert. Daniela Candillari, newly appointed Principal Conductor at Opera Theatre of St. Louis, makes her Tulsa debut leading a cast of stars, large orchestra, and chorus of seventy. Noted Verdi soprano Michelle Bradley performs the title role of the enslaved Ethiopian Princess Aïda. Aida’s beloved, Radamès, is sung by tenor Limmie Pulliam, fresh from his debut at the Metropolitan Opera. Triple Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung sings the role of Amneris, the Egyptian princess and Radamès betrothed. Morris Robinson and Todd Thomas, last seen in Tulsa Opera’s “Baseball Rigoletto,” return to perform the roles of High Priest Ramfis and Amonasro.
