This concert brings you a premier of selected songs from a new Spanish opera, Magallanes: No hay rosa sin espina (Magallanes: There is no rose without thorns) written by Italian composers, Marco Reghezza and Giovanni Scapecchi with the libretto by José Emanuel Nunez De La Fuente. Celebrating the 500th anniversary of Ferdinand Magallanes historic journey to circumnavigate the globe, these beautiful arias will surely delight!
Five talented opera singers from the current Spanish lyric scene accompany the orchestra: Elisa Cordova, soprano; Israel Lozano, tenor; Anna Tonna, mezzo-soprano; Gustavo Ahualli, baritone, and basso-baritone, Luciano Miotto. Acompanying the singers is the acclaimed flamenco dancer, Edwin Aparicio.
