About the event

A heart-warming story of acceptance and love, the Olivier and Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen is returning to the West End’s Noël Coward Theatre.

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a change to finally fit in. Dear Evan Hansen is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it.

Nominated for 7 Oliver Awards in 2020, the show took home the iconic statuette for Mastercard’s Best New Musical, Best Actor In A Musical (for Sam Tutty) and Best Original Score Or New Orchestrations.

Directed by Michael Greif, Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Tony Award-winning Steven Levenson, and tells the story of a high school senior who battles daily with social anxiety.

Nothing was meant to happen the way it did for Evan. Unable to connect with those around him, he continues to struggle to find a sense of purpose. But after the death of one of Evan’s classmates, he fabricates a letter and a lie that will grant him the chance to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. Deeply personal and profound, Dear Evan Hansen is a new musical about life and the way we live it.

Dear Evan Hansen features scenic design by David Korins, projection design by Peter Nigrini, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and hair design by David Brian Brown. Music supervision, orchestrations and additional arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire.
