Port Chicago 50 is a story of love for Country, the American Dream and a quest for Equality and Fairness. During WWII African American Seamen were used to load munitions unto ships to support the war. They were untrained and worked in unfair conditions, under horrendous circumstances. A bomb blows up killing over 300 men, black and white. Afterwards, 50 brave African American men stand up to the Navy for Fair and Just working conditions. Port Chicago 50 is a celebration of these American heroes.
Inspired by True Events from 1944.
Port Chicago 50 is recommended for ages 11 and up for strong language.
