The Hardesty Family Foundation Children’s Series brings this adorable tale of friendship and loyalty to the Tulsa and surrounding communities. Join us as we follow Jack up the giant beanstalk to world of castles in the sky, magical treasures, and one despicable Ogre. With choreography by Ma Cong, sets and costumes by Tracy Grant Lord, and incredible dancing by Tulsa Ballet II, Jack and the Beanstalk encourages audiences to expand their imagination. A musical score assembled by Principal Company Pianist Andrew Lahti and narration by Dan McGeehan, who also adapted the story, help create an entertaining and educational performance for all ages.

As per tradition, Tulsa Ballet’s 23|24 Season will open with Creations in Studio K. This program, celebrating the emphasis on creativity for our organization, will be performed in our Studio K theater, a space built around the purpose of making new works. This year will feature World Premieres by choreographers Penny Saunders and Adam Hougland. Penny, a native of West Palm Beach, Florida, has created works for Pacific Northwest Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance among others. Adam, whose prior works for Tulsa Ballet include Rite of Spring and Cripple and the Starfish, has created works for the likes of The Washington Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal, and is a graduate of Julliard School. We will also see the return of The Sun Sleeps created by Yury Yanowsky for TBII. Yuri, a former superstar of Boston Ballet and now Artistic Curator of the Festival Ballet Providence, has created works for some of the top American ballet companies, including Boston Ballet and Atlanta Ballet.
