Broadway at SHN - Aladdin: November 1 - Jan. 7, 2017


SHN is presenting ALADDIN that features all your favorite songs from the Disney film as well as new music specifically written for this production by Tony(r) and Academy Award(r) winner Alan Menken. And YES, there is going to be a magic carpet ride! Aladdin and Jasmin will be flying across the stage while singing A Whole New World. This performance is definitely kid-friendly and is a great outing for a group of friends or a fun and unique date night out!

Addict Tip: A limited number of $40 Rush tickets will be available for every performance beginning 2 hours prior to curtain at the SHN Orpheum Theatre Box Office. Make sure you bring cash because they do not take cards for payment and they are limited to 2 per person.

SFJazz - Hiromi in Concert: Nov. 16 - 19



Hiromi has gone VIRAL on social media because people just can't get enough of her. She's taken jazz to a whole new level and her stage presence has no match. She's young and plays the piano with so much energy that even if you're not a huge jazz fan, you can't help but be overwhelmed by her talent.

Seriously, just check it out yourself by watching the video above! Have you ever seen fingers move so quickly? We're also a huge fan of her jazzy hairdo. ? All Music Guide calls her "one of the most remarkable pianists of the past half-century."

Addict Tip: We suggest sitting in the last row of the balcony because you get the best blend of sound with a great view and it gives you the freedom to move around a bit (including getting up-and-down for a cocktail throughout the performance!). It may seem like forever away but there are only around 13 rows in the theater and the ticket prices start at $40. There's truly not one bad seat in the house!

San Francisco Symphony - Concert with the Youth Orchestra: November 19^th



This concert is great if you have kids or teens who are interested in music! The San Francisco Symphony's Youth Orchestra is made up of teens from ages 13 - 23 who are from the Bay Area. It's really unique to have so many talented teens on one stage who are fully supported by one of the best symphonies in the country. They'll be playing Rachmaninoff's beautiful Piano Concerto No. 2 and Edward Elgar's enchanting Enigma Variations.

San Francisco Opera - WORLD PREMIERE of Girls of the Golden West: Nov. 21 - Dec. 10 (Only 8 performances)



San Francisco Opera is presenting their World Premiere of Girls of the Golden West featuring music by John Adams (who is local to the Bay Area). This production has been in the making for over four years and the curtain is about to open!

The story follows young people from all over the world who flock to California hoping to strike it rich in the 1850's but are quickly caught up in their greed and prejudices of a rapidly changing world. The opera features many real-life characters, including Louise Clappe who took on the pen of Dame Shirley and wrote her widely known Dame Shirley Letters. It's a great way to learn about the amazing culture and history of California.

Addict Insider: The Costume Designers is Rita Ryack who well known for her brilliant designs in How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey, Casino with Robert Dinero and Michael Jackson's music video Bad! The Set Designer is David Gropman who was the Production Designer of Life of Pi, Hairspray and recently Fences, along with a lot more!

San Francisco Symphony - Concert with Seal: November 30^th



Talk about DATE NIGHT! Seal is going to be singing a tribute to legendary artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole from his upcoming jazz album, Standards, along with a festive selection of holiday tunes. "This is the album I always wanted to make. I grew up listening to music from the Rat Pack era, so recording these timeless songs was a lifelong dream." --Seal

San Francisco Opera - SOL3 MIO : Dec. 1st



Celebrate the holidays with multi-platinum New Zealand trio Sol3 Mio, who are making their Bay Area debut at the War Memorial Opera House. They'll be singing a mix of holiday favorites, operatic works, crossover hits and songs from the South Pacific.

This group is breaking the perceptions of opera by bridging the gap between classical music and contemporary music while infusing more than a dash of uncontainable Samoan humor! We love them because they truly appeal to a wide audience who wouldn't normally be found anywhere near an aria. Addict Insider: The group is made up of two tenor brothers, Pene and Amitai Pati from Mangere, and their North Shore baritone cousin Moses Mackay!

San Francisco Ballet - Nutcracker: December 13-30th (Grab your tickets now!)

We know this is a November write-up but we wanted to let you know that the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker ticket prices increase by demand. So if you are thinking about bringing your kids or your family that is visiting the city, the best time to grab your tickets is NOW!

Addict Insider: Did you know that the San Francisco Ballet was the first ballet company to premier Nutcracker in America on Christmas Eve in 1944?? You should definitely put this on your bucket list and see it live in San Francisco!

Addict Tip: If you have kids, make sure to look for the Family Performances! The first 500 children to arrive (ages 4-12) receive a special gift and everyone enjoys complimentary beverages and treats at intermission.
